1 Remote control sensor ^
The key control signals from the remote control unit
enter the main unit from here.
2 Mini Disc insertion slot &
Insert a minidisc.
3 Pause (8) key (
Press to temporary stop the disc operation.
4 Eject (0) key (
Press to unload the Mini Disc.
5 Play (3) key &
Press to start playback.
6 Stop (7) key (
Press to stop the disc operation.
7 (on/standby) key &
Press to turn the unit on or off (standby).
8 Record (¶) key ∞
Press when starting recording.
9 One-Touch Edit (O.T.E.) key ª
Use this key to record the track being from a CD
immediately.
0 Fast forward and fast backward (1, ¡)
/ rec level keys (
During playback, this key is used to move the played
position forward or backward.
During recording, this key is used to adjust the record-
ing level.

At the time of editing, the cursor movement and the
selected title can be confirmed.

! Skip (4, ¢) keys (
Press to skip disc tracks during playback.
During editing, this key is used to select track numbers,
title and characters.

Standby mode
While the standby indicator of the unit is lit, a small amount of current is flowing into the unit’s internal circuitry to back up
the memory. This condition is referred to as the standby mode of the unit. While the unit is in the standby mode, it can be
turned ON from the remote control unit.
Please also refer to the description in “Memory backup.”
